Lydon stated that “The way this country has been run down utterly disgusts me… This is a wonderful town and a wonderful country and it’s slowly being taken away from us’
Former punk sparring partner Joe Strummer also raised a devastating one-liner. Following The Clash’s ‘I Fought The Law’, Lydon said, “Did he fight the law? Did he F***”
It was the Glastonbury debate that truly raised his ire. Admitting to being ‘disappointed’ by Jay Z’s set, Lydon then turned on Amy Winehouse with spectacular viciousness.
“I don’t like pony arse acts from Camden town imitating black music in that way… And then there’s this drug culture wrapped around it… That is a wreck, leave that covered in vomit next to a bus stop on Oxford Street at 2am”.
