Metallica have revealed that they will release their highly anticipated forthcoming album in an unconventional box set.
In a posting on the band’s website, the veteran rockers said that ‘Death Magnetic’ will be available as a limited-edition coffin-shaped box set.
The set will include a CD of demos as well as a DVD with behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the album.
It will also contain various goodies including “a flag, guitar picks, and a fold out poster along with a collector’s credit card embossed with a code to redeem a free download of a special European show happening in September.”
The band have not yet revealed the release date of the box set, but said that it will be available on the same day as the regular album, which is due out this autumn.
