Universal Music Publishing Group has become the exclusive administrator of the Jimi Hendrix catalog throughout the world outside the United States.
The five-year agreement covers all commercial opportunities, including synchronization licensing for motion pictures, TV, advertising and other media.
Universal Music Publishing replaces Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which had administered the Hendrix catalog outside the United States since 1998. The U.S. publishing rights will continue to be handled by Experience Hendrix, the Seattle company formed in 1995 by the guitarist’s late father, James “Al” Hendrix, and now headed by Jimi Hendrix’s sister Janie Hendrix, who is president/CEO. Guitarist and co-founder of both Beautiful Creatures and Sixx:A.M, DJ Ashba has joined forces with Axl Rose. It was announced that Ashba will replace Robin Fink on guitar duties for the tour supporting the band’s long-awaited album Chinese Democracy.

The ‘Smile’ singer, 23, is currently recruiting other stars to perform at the concert, and is reportedly planning to approach Amy Winehouse, Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs, Leona Lewis, Jay-Z, and Sugababes.
Lily said: “My thoughts are with all the families affected by these heinous crimes. We need to have a knife amnesty. And we should put on a big concert to raise awareness and stop the violence.”

Van Halen singer Dave Lee Roth has been left baffled by a story reported in the media claiming he had suffered a severe allergic reaction to nuts.
Reported claimed two Canadian police man helped save the 53-year-old’s life after he suffered an anaphylactic shock in his car on July 8 in Ontario.
Now, Lee Roth has denied that the incident ever happened or he was even in the city at the time. The rocker also said he wasn’t aware he was allergic to nuts.
He told celebrity blog TMZ.com: “I was in Canada only from July 1st through to the 4th for a performance at the Quebec City Summer Festival. I had no encounters or incidents with the police (and) the only thing I’m allergic to is criticism.”

There will be another solo Scott Weiland record before a new Stone Temple Pilots album.
Weiland will release the yet-to-be titled album in October.

Guns N’Roses’ Axl Rose comes in at No.1 for the sheer number of fan versus band scuffles he’s racked up. While other musicians have the odd angry incident hidden in their past, Mr Rose’s battles number too many to name. But let us give you our favourites. There’s was the time he stopped an Argentina show to tell off the audience like pre-schoolers (watch here).
